Canada: Notice of preliminary determinations on Mattresses

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), pursuant to subsection 38(1) of the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA), made preliminary determinations of dumping and subsidizing with respect to certain mattresses from China. The subject goods are usually classified under the following tariff classification numbers: 9404.21.00.00 and 9404.29.00.00. Note that the tariff classification numbers are for convenience of reference only. Refer to the product definition for authoritative details regarding the subject goods. Provisional duties will now be payable on the subject goods that are released from the CBSA on or after July 7, 2022. Where amounts of dumping and/or subsidy are considered insignificant, the investigations will continue but provisional duties will not be payable. 

Canada: Notice of initiation of re-investigation on Line pipe 2

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has initiated a re‑investigation of the normal values and export prices of certain carbon and alloy steel line pipe (line pipe) exported from the Republic of Korea to Canada. The re‑investigation is part of the CBSA’s enforcement of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s (CITT) injury finding issued on January 4, 2018. 

Canada: Notice of normal value review on Carbon steel fasteners

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has initiated a normal value review (review) to update the normal values and export prices applicable to certain carbon steel fasteners (fasteners) originating in or exported from the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei) by Newfast Co., Ltd. (Newfast). The review is part of the CBSA’s enforcement of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s (CITT) order issued on September 2, 2020, respecting the dumping of fasteners originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China (China) and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei) and the subsidizing of such goods, originating in or exported from China, excluding fasteners specifically designed for application in the automotive or aerospace industry, in accordance with the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA). 

EU: Notice of re-opening of the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations on certain pneumatic tyres

European Commission has issued notice of re-opening of the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations with regard to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/1579 and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/1690 imposing measures on certain pneumatic tyres (currently falling under CN codes 4011 20 90 and ex 4012 12 00 (TARIC code 4012 12 00 10) from People’s Republic of China following the judgment of 4 May 2022 in joined cases T-30/19 and T-72/19. 

EU: Notice of re-opening of the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations on imports of electric bicycles

European Commission has issued notice of reopening of the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations with regard to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/73 and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/72 imposing measures on imports of electric bicycles (CN codes 8711 60 10 and ex 8711 60 90 (TARIC code 8711 60 90 10) from the People’s Republic of China following the judgments of 27 April 2022 in cases T-242/19 and T-243/19. 

EU: Notice of initiation of an anti-dumping proceeding concerning imports of high tenacity yarn of polyesters

European Commission has issued notice of initiation of an anti-dumping proceeding concerning imports of high tenacity yarn of polyesters originating in the People’s Republic of China, limited to Zhejiang Hailide New Material Co. Ltd, and of initiation of a review of the anti-dumping measures on imports of high tenacity yarn of polyesters (CN code ex 5402 20 00 (TARIC code 5402 2000 10) originating in the People’s Republic of China. 

EU: Notice of re-opening of the anti-dumping investigation to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty

European Commission has issued notice of re-opening of the anti-dumping investigation with regard to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/763 imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty and collecting definitively the provisional duty imposed on imports of certain lightweight thermal paper (CN codes ex 4809 90 00, ex 4811 90 00, ex 4816 90 00 and ex 4823 90 85 (TARIC codes: 4809 90 00 10, 4811 90 00 10, 4816 90 00 10, 4823 90 85 20), originating in the Republic of Korea following the judgement of the General Court of 2 April 2020 in Case T-383/17, as upheld by the Court of Justice in case C-260/20 P.s. 

US: Preliminary Determination in the Antidumping Duty Investigation of Sodium Nitrite from Russia

On June 23, 2022, the Department of Commerce (Commerce) announced its affirmative preliminary determination in the antidumping duty (AD) investigation of sodium nitrite (Classified under tariff chapter 2834.10.1000) from Russia. 

US: Final Determination in the Countervailing Duty Investigation of Urea Ammonium Nitrate

On June 21, 2022, the Department of Commerce (Commerce) announced its affirmative final determinations in the antidumping duty (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations of urea ammonium nitrate solutions (classified under HTS 3102.80.0000) from Russia and Trinidad & Tobago. 

US: Final Determination in the Antidumping Duty Investigations of Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Rubber

On June 21, 2022, the Department of Commerce (Commerce) announced its affirmative final determinations in the antidumping duty (AD) investigations of acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (classified under HTS 4002.59.00.00) from France, Mexico, and South Korea.
