Responsibilities

• Support on the free trade agreement management and execution including the country-of-origin determination (COO), Bill of material (BOM) analysis, Supplier solicitation, and other critical import trade compliance functions.
• Maintain organized records to support country of origin and trade preference qualification determination.
• Work on FTA Management/origin management software’s and application.
• Work with internal/external stakeholders to obtain the information required to ensure accurate country of origin, classification, and preference are assigned to components.
• Manage blocked records in SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) or other applications.
• Provide support by performing Restricted Parties List screening of sales orders and delivery documents.
• Research and determine the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and /or ECCN classification for finished goods, equipment, raw materials, parts, non-production items etc.
• Understands governmental regulations to maintain compliance and retain trade privileges.
• Understand and evaluation of the Global Trade compliance information from regulatory point of view by doing research and analysing information from various ministries, departments and other government /official source in order to comply with international trade regulations.
• Interact with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure complete, accurate and compliant information is declared to Customs authority and other government agencies to minimize delays and expedite release.
• Experience with overseeing import operations, including customs brokers in the EU
• Develop, implement, and maintain corporate policies and procedures as they relate to trade preference strategies and initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 – 5 years’ experience
• A background in International Trade
• Master in Business Administration (MBA) would be an asset
• Customs broker license and knowledge in customs clearance process or experience would be an advantage.
• Working knowledge in SAP GTS
• Fluency in English is must. Other languages would be an asset.
• Technical degree or equivalent experience would be an asset.
• Experience with MS Office Applications, including proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
• Ability to read/analyse regulations and procedures.
• Ability to write, speak, and present effectively and persuasively.
• Working in a virtual global team.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
• Honesty, confidentiality, Strong initiative and positive attitude.
