CATTS B.V. and its entities (collectively “CATTS”), are committed to protecting your privacy, and support a general policy of openness about how we collect, use, store and disclose your Personal Information.

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you about CATTS practices relating to the processing of Personal Information. By purchasing our products or using our services, you consent to the collection, use, storage and disclosure of your Personal Information in accordance with the following terms and conditions.

Personal Information

For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, “Personal Information” means any information that identifies or could be used to identify an individual personas defined in accordance with applicable law, and includes any reference to “Personal Data”.

For the purposes of EU data protection laws, CATTS is the controller of Personal Information collected from you on our website or otherwise for the purpose of conducting or developing our business with you. When we act as a data processor on behalf of another controller, we collect, use, and disclose the relevant Personal Information only under the controller’s instruction, and their privacy policy will apply to how they (and we on their behalf) process your Personal Information. Please note that this Privacy Policy only applies to CATTS company but not to third-party websites that may process, share, or disclose your Personal Information or other information. It is important to familiarize yourself with their privacy policies before providing them with your Personal Information.

Collected data and purpose of processing

We may collect Personal Information from individuals during their dealings with us or while visiting our web sites, for example when individuals contact us by e-mail or phone, subscribe to a service or register in a secure section of our social media account.

We use your Personal Information to:

  • Provide our Services: such as customs clearance and broker management services, trade management and consulting, and software products.
  • Customer Support: provide support and respond to and communicate with you about your quotes, requests, questions and comments.
  • Marketing and Promotions: sent direct marketing and promotional materials (newsletters, special offers, or promotions, or to otherwise contact you about CATTS products or information we think may interest you). You may opt-out of receiving marketing emails by following the opt-out instructions in the email. We may still email you customer service and transaction-related communications, even if you have opted-out of receiving marketing communications.
    • In addition, we may appoint digital marketing agents to conduct marketing activity on our behalf, such activity may result in the compliant processing of personal information.

Sharing of Personal Information

According to protect your data, we may share your personal data with our entities when necessary and after your consent is given, or when we are legally entitled to do so.

‍For the operation of our websites, we work with service providers. In such cases, there are safeguards put in place to make certain that your personal data is protected according to the regulations of the European Union. For recipients located in countries outside the European Economic Area (“third countries”), there is a possibility that the applicable laws on data protection do not offer the same level of protection as in the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this is true, CATTS takes the necessary steps to ensure that an appropriate level of protection of personal data exists, such as European Model Clauses or similar adequate mechanism.

Data is shared only in connection with and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. We do not sell or otherwise market your personal data to third parties.

Rights to access, rectification and deletion of the personal data

Subject to applicable laws, you have the right to access, correct or request the deletion of your Personal Information at any time.  In certain circumstances, you may have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Information. Please refer to articles 15-22 of EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for legal basis of these rights.

Personal Information Protection

CATTS makes reasonable efforts to ensure that Personal Information collected from you is protected against loss, theft and unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. This protection applies in relation to information stored in both electronic and hard copy form.  Access to your Personal Information is restricted to selected employees or representatives. In addition, CATTS employs generally accepted information security techniques, such as firewalls, access control procedures and cryptography, to protect Personal Information against loss and unauthorized access.

Please note that no transmission over the Internet is 100% secure or error-free, and that processes, systems, and technologies used and maintained by CATTS may be subject to compromise. You acknowledge that we cannot be held responsible for any unauthorized or unintended access that is beyond our control.

Data retention and storage of Personal Information

We generally follow the rule to only keep your Personal Information for as long as required to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. This means that we retain your Personal Information for a period of time corresponding to a statute of limitation setting out the period during which related legal claims may be filed in court.

We may also retain Personal Information for other periods of time, for instance where we are required to do so in accordance with legal, tax and accounting requirements, or if required to do so by a legal process, legal authority, or other governmental entity, or if you are also subject to another privacy policy which we provided to you.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
