Canada: Carbon steel fasteners - notice of close of record and updated schedule
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has now closed the record of the normal value review (review) of certain carbon steel fasteners (fasteners) originating in or exported from the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei) to Canada by Jwu Sheng Enterprise Co., Ltd.
The review is part of the CBSA’s enforcement of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s order issued on September 2, 2020, respecting the dumping of fasteners originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China (China) and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei) and the subsidizing of such goods, originating in or exported from China, excluding fasteners specifically designed for application in the automotive or aerospace industry, in accordance with the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA).
Canada: Upholstered domestic furniture - notice of close of record and updated schedule
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has now closed the record of the normal value review of certain upholstered domestic seating (UDS) originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China (China) by Gu Jia Intelligent Household Jiaxing Co., Ltd. The review follows a request for re-determination filed by an importer and is part of the CBSA’s enforcement of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s (CITT) order issued on September 2, 2021, respecting the dumping and subsidizing of UDS from China and Vietnam in accordance with the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA).
Canada: Carbon and alloy steel line pipe 2 (LP2 2022 ER) - notice of initiation of expiry review investigation
On October 31, 2022, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), pursuant to subsection 76.03(1) of the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA), initiated an expiry review of its finding made on January 4, 2018, in Inquiry No. NQ-2017-002, concerning the dumping of certain carbon and alloy steel line pipe (line pipe) originating in or exported from the Republic of Korea. As a result of the CITT’s expiry review, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has initiated an expiry review investigation to determine, pursuant to paragraph 76.03(7)(a) of SIMA, whether the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and/or subsidizing of the subject goods. The CBSA will make a determination no later than March 23, 2023, and will issue a Statement of Reasons by April 14, 2023. Canada: Grinding media (GM 2022 RI) notice of initiation of a re-investigation
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has initiated a re-investigation of the normal values and export prices of certain grinding media from India. The re-investigation is part of the CBSA’s enforcement of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s (CITT) injury finding issued on August 27, 2021. Normal values established during this re-investigation will be effective for the subject goods released from the CBSA on or after the date of the conclusion of the re-investigation. Normal values currently in place will expire on that date. Normal values determined on the basis of the re-investigation will be applied to any entries of subject goods under appeal that have yet to be redetermined at the time of the conclusion of this re-investigation.
Exporters that wish to participate in this re-investigation are required to provide a complete and accurate response to the CBSA’s Request for Information (RFI) by December 2, 2022. An exporter will be considered co-operative if the requested information is submitted on time and the exporter permits verification of the data. EU: Notice of initiation of an anti-dumping proceeding concerning imports of bulb flat
EU published notice of initiation of an anti-dumping proceeding concerning imports of bulb flat originating in the People’s Republic of China and Türkiye. The complaint was lodged on 30 September 2022 by Laminados Losal S.A.U. (‘the complainant’). The complaint was made on behalf of the Union industry of bulb flat in the sense of Article 5(4) of the basic Regulation. The product subject to this investigation is non-alloy steel bulb flat in the range up to 204 mm width (‘the product under investigation’). The product allegedly being dumped is the product under investigation, originating in the PRC and Türkiye (‘the countries concerned’), currently classified under CN code ex 7216 50 91 (TARIC code 7216509110). The CN and TARIC codes are given for information only, without prejudice to their possible amendment at future steps of the proceeding.
