China customs tariff update

China customs authority has updated the import tariff. Update includes the changes in the product description, general duty rates and Value added tax rates for various products classified across the tariff chapters.

European Union customs tariff update

  • EU customs authority has updated the import tariff. Update includes the changes in import duty, preferential duty rates for various products classified under tariff chapters 01, 02, 04, 08, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 23.
  • TARIC code 2922 42 00 10 has been closed and absorbed by following new TARIC codes; 2922 42 00 15/10; 2922 42 00 15/80; 2922 42 00 20/80.
  • Measures 552 and 570 have been created on the new codes (2922 42 00 15/80 and 2922 42 00 20/80).
  • Measure 564 measures has been created on the TARIC code 2922 42 00 15.
  • Measure 566 measures has been created on the TARIC code 2922 42 00 20.
  • The goods described in the Annex shall be classified within the Combined Nomenclature under the CN code.
  • 4911 10 90 - Article in the form of a presentation catalogue measuring approximately 22 × 25 cm, consisting of solid, glossy paperboard, printed in colour with information on the hair dye advertised in it. Link
  • 9013 80 40 - An article (so called passive optical splitter) in the form of a plastic box with dimensions of approximately 377 × 176 × 40 mm, with one input port and 32 output ports. It contains optical fibre cables, SC/APC type connectors, and in one housing an optical waveguide with a ‘splitter chip’ and a cladding made of a material with a low refractive index. Link

European Union Classification of certain goods

The European Commission published measures concerning the classification of the goods referred to in the Annex to the Regulation 26588/87.

The goods described in the Annex shall be classified within the Combined Nomenclature under the CN code. 6212 90 00

  1. Tight fitting garment covering the upper part of the body, made of three different kinds of knitted textile fabric of man-made fibres. It consists of a main fabric and several panels attached to the main fabric:
    • the main fabric (85 % polyester and 15 % elastane) (single jersey plain knit fabric), and
    • the firm panels (100 % polyester) (interlock knit fabric), and
    • the mesh panels (92 % polyester and 8 % elastane) (warp knit fabric).
  2. Tight fitting garment covering the upper part of the body, made of two different kinds of knitted textile fabric of man-made fibres: the front of the garment is made of a pile fabric (sort of terry fabric; 83 % polyester, 17 % elastane) and the back of the garment is made of mesh fabric (100 % nylon).

India customs tariff updates 

  • India customs authority seeks to amend notification No. 50/2017- Customs, dated 30.06.2017, in order to prescribe conditional BCD rate of 10% on Laboratory Chemicals [excluding undenatured ethyl alcohol of any alcoholic strength], falling under HS 9802 00 00, for specified use.
  • India customs authority has updated the preferential duty rates for India – UAE CEPA for certain products classified under tariff chapter 71.
  • India customs authority has amended the export duty on specified items of raw hides, skins and leather classified under tariff chapters 41 and 43.
  • India customs authority has amended the import duty rates for certain products classified under tariff chapters 25, 26, 28, 29, 38, 80 and 81. 
  • India customs authority has reduced the provides concessional rate for gold, silver and platinum imported under specified schemes.

Israel customs tariff update

Israel customs authority has updated the import tariff. Update includes the changes in the purchase tax and special tax rates for various products classified across the tariff chapters.

Maldives customs tariff update

Maldives customs authority has updated the import tariff. Update includes the changes in the HTS code and general duty rate for certain products classified under tariff chapter 84.

Norway customs tariff update

Norway customs authority has updated the import tariff. Update includes the changes in import duty rates and preferential duty rates for various products classified across the tariff chapters.

Taiwan customs tariff update

Taiwan customs authority has updated the import tariff. Update includes the changes in import duty rates and preferential duty rates for various products classified across the tariff chapters.

United States: CBP to increase user fees for fiscal year 2025, Effective from October 1, 2024

This document announces that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is adjusting certain customs user fees and corresponding limitations established by the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) for Fiscal Year 2025 in accordance with the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act) as implemented by the CBP regulations.

  • customs broker permit: $180.57 (up from $163.71)
  • express consignment carrier/centralized hub facility, per individual waybill/bill of lading: minimum $0.46 (up from 0.42) and maximum $1.31 (up from $1.19)
  • merchandise processing: minimum $32.71 (up from $29.66) and maximum $634.62 (up from $575.35)
  • surcharge for manual entry or release: $3.93 (up from $3.56)
  • informal entry or release not prepared by CBP personnel: $2.62 automated (up from $2.37) and $7.85 manual (up from $7.12)
  • informal entry or release prepared by CBP personnel: $11.78 (up from $10.68)
  • commercial vessel arrival: $571.81 per arrival (up from $518.41) and $7,792.05 annual cap (up from $7,064.34)
  • barge and other bulk carrier arrival: $143.93 per arrival (up from $130.49) and $1,962.73 annual cap (up from $1,779.43)
  • commercial truck arrival: $7.20 per arrival (up from $6.50) and $130.85 annual cap (up from $118.63)
  • rail car arrival: $10.80 per arrival (up from $9.79) and $130.85 annual cap (up from $118.63)
  • dutiable mail: $7.50 (up from $6.52)
  • commercial vessel or aircraft passenger arrival: $7.20 (up from $6.52)
